Before joining the Teams design team, I led a hackathon project during Microsoft’s annual company hackathon with the goal of adding name pronunciation functionality to Teams. To achieve this, I assembled a diverse team with a range of skills and backgrounds to design and develop a working concept.

The impact of our project was significant. We won the D&I E+D Hackathon award and caught the attention of Jeff Teper (Teams President) via a thread. We also built a bridge with Teams and Microsoft's People Card teams to plan the implementation of our idea into the People Card. In fact, the People Card team referenced our research insights and personas.

Throughout this project, I learned to lead and manage efficiently, lean on the strengths of my team members, and create a fun and impactful experience for everyone involved.
